Required Skills/Experience:
IV insertion is expected.
Perioperative experience is expected, specifically pre-op experience and phase 2 recovery experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
5 years of experience preferred.
Unit Details:
Pre-op care for surgical patients includes verifying consents and reviewing medications; phase 2 post-op care is also provided.
The unit sees 20-35 cases.
Uses Epic Optime.
Equipment includes a bladder scanner, EKG, glucometer, and pneumatic device.
Shift & Scheduling:
Shift options include 6am-2:30pm, 8am-4:30pm, 9am-5:30pm, and 11:30am-8pm.
Call requirement: 5 calls within a 6-week scheduling period; weekday call is 8pm-8am, and weekend call is 8am-8am (24-hour call) and is required.
Holiday work is required.
The role provides on-call support for PACU RNs.
