Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required.
- Strong cardiac monitoring skills, central/arterial line management, and pacemaker management.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 1 year of previous travel experience strongly preferred.
- Heart transplant experience preferred.
- ECMO experience is a plus, but not required.
Required Credentials:
- Student or Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN- formerly NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- ECG exam required during orientation.
Unit Details:
- Highly specialized pediatric cardiac surgery intensive care unit providing advanced postoperative management of care.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Day/night rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend.
Floating Requirements:
- Floating is required as needed to other areas within the Mayo Clinic Children's Center. This may include NICU and General Pediatric care areas.
