Required Skills/Experience: All candidates must have some experience with peds and adults (roughly 50% of the population is peds). Travel pairs are not accepted. Travelers are expected to work holidays unless the holiday lands during contracted time off.
Unit Details: Ratios: ICU 1:2; Peds 1:4; Adults 1:4; procedural sedation 1:1. All diagnoses from minor walk-ins to critically ill patients, including respiratory failure, asthma, ABD pain, fractures, substance abuse, and some psych holds (maybe 1 per day). Adult ER includes STEMI, CVA, and burn receiving center cases. Peds ER is a receiving center for pediatrics. ED RNs manage their own ER holds. Uses Phillips telemetry with a monitor tech. Fast track is staffed by LVNs and RNs for both peds and adults.
Shift & Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per month; can be 1 per week or 2 every other week. No call, but may be placed on standby for low census; if called in from standby, response time is 30 minutes. Traveler needs to be flexible with scheduling.
