Additional Details:
Required Credentials:
- Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
- Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation on skills learned; must score 90% to pass or the contract will be terminated.
Special Requests:
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details:
- Fast-paced trauma ICU at the system's Level 1 trauma center; receives many transfers and ED admits.
- Cares for adults and pediatric patients older than 15 with trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest.
- RNs titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
- Clinical exposure includes CVP, IABP, Impella, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV1000, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol with Zoll-Thermoguard, Bell Mont rapid transfuser, and respiratory support from nasal cannula to ventilators.
- Uses Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must read and interpret strips.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Self-scheduling is managed by the manager based on unit needs.
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to inpatient units, excluding Maternity and NICU.
