    Additional Information

    References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

    Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of 1 year OB experience. Need to be able to work labor & delivery, postpartum, mom/baby couplets, and well-baby nursery, as well as be comfortable taking post-surgical patients (post-appe, post-chole, etc.) on the OB unit.

    Preferred Skills/Experience: Some MedSurg background preferred.

    Unit Details: Labor, delivery, postpartum, mom/baby couplets, and well-baby nursery. Patients >34 weeks; under 34 weeks are transferred out. No VBACs or TOLACs. Well-baby nursery includes IV antibiotics, IV dextrose, feeders/growers, and bili babies. C-sections are done in the main OR; no need to circulate or recover. Titrates oxytocin, magnesium, and insulin drips. Uses OBIX and Spacelab monitors; RNs are not required to read their own strips. No charge nurse; house supervisor is in house 24/7 and NRP trained. No techs or aides on the unit. OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia are in house during the day Monday-Friday and on-call after hours and on weekends/holidays.

    Special Requests: Will try to accommodate requests/blocks, if able.

    Shift & Scheduling: Day/night rotation, mainly weekends. 12-hour shifts: 7a-730p / 7p-730a. Two shifts one week and three shifts the other week of the pay period. Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun). Every 3rd holiday. No call or standby requirement.

    Floating Requirements: Float to MedSurg as helping hands when OB is closed.
