Required Skills & Experience
2 years of acute care manager/director experience. 5 years total RN experience minimum
Stroke Certified Unit – must be comfortable with stroke patients and neuro assessments
Unit Details
Medical: COPD, CHF, emphysema, CAD, DM, ETOH W/D, dementia, failure to thrive, falls with or without injury, kidney failure and patients on dialysis, sepsis, UTI’s, GI bleeds and all sorts of different wounds
May see a few surgical patients, but majority of them go to the 2nd Surgical Unit
Scrub Color: Business casual. Scrubs are accepted as well, professional, any color
Parking: Free, parking shuttle in winter months
Role & Responsibilities / Preferred Experience
Managing schedule, quality details, HR conflicts, productivity, incident reports, root-cause analysis, educating floor nurses for various reasons and scenarios, conflict management, able to uphold Press-Ganey measures, provide patient care when/if needed
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Soft skills: Good communication, need to be flexible with hours to support staff, professional, trustworthy, kind, strong supporter of culture, approachable, organized
Minimal budget management; director will oversee this
Shift & Scheduling:
- 2 weeks of department orientation with Director
- Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend will be “on call.” Will not need to go into the hospital but could have calls from hospital with questions or urgent issues that come up.
- Holiday Expectations: Not required to come in for major holidays
- Shift times: Somewhat flexible, but will do 8h day shifts
- Schedule cycle: Monday - Friday
