Required Skills/Experience: Oncology and PCU experience required. Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience.
Required Credentials: Open-book skills exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% or higher to pass. You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 or fewer days are allowed per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
Unit Details: Mixed PCU/Med-Surg/Oncology unit caring for adult oncology and trauma patients. Nurse-patient ratios: 1:4 PCU, 1:5 Med/Surg; nights 1:5-6 patients. Common drips/medications include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix. May titrate insulin and cardizem drips. Uses Alaris IV pumps and Lyko lifts. Ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring including CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, and ICP; real-time training available.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Self-scheduling.
Floating Requirements: Float to Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care.
