References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding. Pass/fail open-book skills exam during orientation on Wednesday; must score 90% to pass.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Block scheduling will not be approved unless it's weekends only; weekends-only block scheduling may be considered. Travel pairs/duos requesting the same schedule or sharing a car are not accepted. RTO must be requested upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.
Unit Details: Adult ICU patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are required to titrate drips; common drips include cardiac, insulin, and sedation. Respiratory support ranges from nasal cannula to ventilators. Telemetry monitoring required; RNs must read, interpret, and document strips. Uses GE monitors with tele tech oversight.
Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling for core staff; travelers are added into the schedule. Every other weekend. Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract time frame. If placed on call and called back in, must arrive within 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements: Typically floats to PCU and occasionally MedSurg; will usually take the same ratios assigned on those units (1:4 or 1:5).
