An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
Required Skills/Experience: Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong assessment skills in Neuro. Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring would be needed.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience as Neuro Interventionalist a plus
Unit/Facility Details: Neuro population from our Med/Surg ICU, this would include Stroke, TBI, Head injury, and Neurosurgery patients. Main procedures would be Neuro assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures (i.e. line placement, intubation). Neuro specific would include bolt and drain bedside placements with Neurosurgery and in future state caring for Neuro interventional patients. During flu season, any traveler who declines flu and COVID vaccination is required to wear a mask at all times. This is an Aspirus policy, and compliance is mandatory (No exceptions). Failure to follow the policy may result in corrective action.
Shift & Scheduling: On Call/Call Back Requirements: none. Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed. Unit will typically low census in 4 hr increments and could ask for a traveler to work only 4 or 8 hrs of the shift. This is not considered to be on call. Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend Every other holiday
Floating Requirements: Will float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU units- possible float to other critical care units and other inpatient units as needed.
