Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to catch the baby. Must have at least 1 year of LDRP experience. Must be comfortable with NRP at delivery in a setting without in-house pediatric coverage. Will take L&D-only candidates with OR circulating experience, but will not accept a candidate who only has postpartum experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience: 3 years of LDRP experience preferred.
Special Requests: Cannot have been directly employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
Unit Details: Labor 1:2, 1:1 at delivery. 1:4 mother/baby couplets. Patient population includes 35 weeks and above; may do twin deliveries; preterm patients less than 35 weeks are transferred to a higher level of care. Provides antepartum NST testing. Includes newborn stabilization. Titrates pitocin and occasional insulin drips. Charge nurse or nurse shift manager is on every shift; charge may take an assignment if needed for staffing. No CNAs; one OB tech is scheduled each shift. OB is in house 24/7. Anesthesia is not in house 24/7; when there are no patients, anesthesia is on call with a 20-minute response time, and remains in house when a patient has an epidural. RT attends every delivery and assists with respiratory support; equipment includes ventilator, CPAP, and bubble CPAP. No tele/monitor techs; GE fetal monitors can record maternal heart rhythm. Patients who receive general anesthesia recover in the main PACU. EFM system: Fetalink.
Shift & Scheduling: 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; nights are Friday/Saturday. Holidays rotate with core staff. May be placed on call/standby on scheduled shifts and must present within 30 minutes of callback. Schedule is made 4 weeks in advance.
Floating Requirements: First to float. Floats to all other Sacramento facilities.
