Required Skills/Experience:

• Non-trauma Emergency Department experience required.
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias required.
• Management of dysrhythmias required.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients required.
• Triage experience required.

Unit Details:

• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics; pediatric patients comprise 5% of the population.
• The position description describes the emergency care facility as Trauma Level III, while the unit profile describes it as a Level II trauma center.
• Teleneurology for stroke is provided in cooperation with Mass General Hospital.
• Pediatric patients requiring PICU care are transferred out.
• Equipment includes ultrasound, a bladder scanner, a neuro telemetry computer, and Care Aware handheld devices.
• Unit systems include Omnicell and SBAR.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekends off are not guaranteed; the unit works hard to provide a fair schedule.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Travelers are required to float to ED holding.
