    Additional Information

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Mother-baby experience required.
    • Must be able to attend deliveries, complete 1 hour of newborn care, triage, circulate C-sections, and provide postpartum couplet care.
    • Must have experience with magnesium.
    • First-time travelers accepted.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • 1 year of mother-baby experience preferred.
    • Charge nurse experience preferred.

    Special Requests:

    • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
    • The facility may make one-off exceptions if previously employed at the facility, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.
    • At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
    • Block scheduling is not guaranteed. For the first schedule, travelers will fill holes; on subsequent schedules, schedule preferences may be considered around core staff. Cannot work 6 shifts in a row.
    • Travel duos will need 2 cars, as they may be at different sites or float during the shift.

    Unit Details:

    • Uses Epic and the Centricity EFM system.
    • Follows AWHONN staffing standards: 1:1 labor unless pairing 2 cervical ripening patients; postpartum 1:3 couplet care; triage 1:3, with a resource nurse utilized if triage reaches 4 patients.
    • Patient population includes 32 weeks gestation and greater, hypertension patients receiving magnesium, BACs, TOLACs, some gestational diabetes, and some antepartum patients. Many patients present from home-birth midwives for medical intervention and pain control. Does not take placenta previa or placenta accreta patients. Serves a very diverse population.
    • Includes titration of Pitocin and magnesium protocols, with occasional insulin drips.
    • Admin supervisor, resource RN, and triage RN support each shift; charge RNs do not take patient assignments.
    • OB hospitalist, neonatal NP, and anesthesia are in house 24/7.
    • Tele capability is available on the unit but is rarely used; patients are typically transferred to a higher level of care if needed.

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • Weekends as needed, based on unit needs and requests.
    • No set holiday requirement for travel RNs; may work a holiday if needed during the contract.
    • No call required.

    Floating Requirements:

    • First to float to all St. Luke’s Treasure Valley sites — Meridian, Nampa, and Boise — in primary skill set (L&D/Mother-Baby) or as a sitter. Floating is for a full shift, not partial, and notice is given prior to shift start. Sites are within 15 minutes of each other.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
