References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Block scheduling depending on open needs.

Unit Details: Level II NICU. Ratios based on AWHONN acuity standards can be 1:2 or 1:3 in the NICU; postpartum and well babies typically are 1:3. Common diagnoses/types of patients include TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia. Will attend deliveries. Required to take a postpartum mom and her baby as a couplet assignment up to a 1:3 ratio per AWHONN standards. Few drips to titrate; outside of general fluids like TPN or dextrose, babies would transport to a tertiary hospital even if started on the unit. Charge nurse takes an assignment. Nurse aides are part of the LDRP. NNPs available 24/7, and neonatology is available via telehealth. Vents, BCPAP, and HHFNC equipment available.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation is on a 6-week schedule block; typically about 4 Friday-Sunday night shifts in a 6-week period, sometimes less. Weekend and holiday requirements. Call and standby required; the unit takes turns by hours unless staff request standby. One mandatory call shift every 12 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Hospital policy requires floating as helping hands to other departments; the Level II NICU may float to MI in the Family Birth Center with a patient assignment.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
