You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience: 2 years Level 4 NICU experience. First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience: PA lines preferred. Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Unit Details: Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit. Neonate and infant patient population, including critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns. Admissions come from the high-risk perinatal department as well as transports from other hospitals in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii. Surgical and tracheostomy patients. Delivery hospital; travelers are not required to go to deliveries. Family-centered care with access to endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery specialists. Nurses participate in the education of students and pediatric residents.
Shift & Scheduling: Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day). Weekend required. Call: voluntary. RTO restrictions: 1 week max.
Floating Requirements: Float within the hospital only; no floating to sister hospitals. If they have PALS they could be floated to one of the peds floors for an assignment. If they don't have PALS they may float as a sitter.
