Unit Details:

• Each room is staffed with an RN circulator, CST, and first assist.
• Six surgical attendants cover 0630-1830 and assist with patient transport, pulling instruments, and room turnover. Supply chain techs pull cases from preference cards seven days a week; board runner 7am-7pm seven days a week; unit secretary Monday-Friday.
• High volume of Neuro/Spine and Orthopedic Trauma, General Orthopedics, General Surgery including Robotics, Urology, GYN, Vascular, ENT, OMF.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekday 12-hour shifts with the ability to cover some call.
• Call Requirements: One night a week for C2 call (7p-7a). Will not schedule C2 on scheduled off days.
• Weekends: One weekend every four weeks C1 from 7am-7pm (12 hour call). Will be called in for trauma back-up if both teams are in rooms. The next time you are on weekend call it will be C2 from 7a-7pm and C1 from 7pm to 7am. You could be called on C2 for trauma back-up if all three teams are in rooms from 7a-7p. You could be called in if the in-house team is in a room for trauma back-up from 7p-7a. (24 hour call)
• Must be in-house within 30 minutes of call.
