Required Skills/Experience:
24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required.
Experience with neurology/neurosurgery care is required.
Orthopedic care experience is required.
Experience with heparin, PCA, and 3% sodium drips is required.
Experience with EKG/strip reading and measurement, as well as telemetry, is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Trauma care experience is highly preferred.
Experience with telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo is highly preferred.

Special Requests:
Unless the unit is closed, the contractor is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays.
Any past UnityPoint Health (UPH) employee, whether an FTE or PRN worker in the UPH float pool, cannot work a travel assignment in another market, regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. If that person worked travel at UPH rather than as an FTE or PRN employee, the separation policy does not apply.

Unit Details:
The unit's case mix includes heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic cases.
Unit drips include heparin, PCA, and 3% sodium; drips are not titrated.
Specialty equipment includes telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 48 hours per week; 36 hours per week can be accommodated if desired.
Weekend rotation is every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing/census.
No call.

Floating Requirements:
The traveler will be required to float across all campuses, including IMMC, ILH, and MWH.
