Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- 24 months of current Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience required.
- No first-time travelers; must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months.
- Neurology/neurosurgery care experience required.
- Ortho/orthopedic care experience required.
- Drip experience with heparin, PCA, and 3% sodium required.
- EKG/strip reading, measuring, and telemetry experience required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Trauma care experience highly preferred.
- Experience with telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo highly preferred.
Preferred Credentials:
- SAMA accepted for the preferred de-escalation certification.
Special Requests:
- Past UPH FTE or PRN float pool employees who currently work, or have worked, in another market within the past 12 months are not eligible for travel; prior UPH travel workers are exempt from this policy.
Unit Details:
- Heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and ortho patient population.
- Drips include heparin, PCAs, and 3% Na with no titration.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Fri, Sat, Sun schedule.
- No call.
- Unless the unit is closed, required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
Floating Requirements:
- Required to float across campuses, including IMMC, ILH, and MWH.
