Required Skills/Experience:
24 months of current Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting required.
Neurology/neurosurgery care experience required.
Ortho/orthopedic care experience required.
Experience with heparin, PCA, and 3% sodium/Na drips required.
EKG/strip reading and measuring/telemetry experience required.
Must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Trauma care experience highly preferred.
Specialty equipment: telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo highly preferred.

Special Requests:
Any former UnityPoint Health employee, whether FTE or PRN for the UnityPoint Health float pool, cannot work travel in another market if they currently work at or have worked at any UnityPoint Health facility within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UnityPoint Health rather than as an FTE or PRN, the separation policy does not apply.

Unit Details:
The patient population includes heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic cases.
Common drips include heparin, PCA, and 3% sodium; drips are not titrated.
Specialty equipment includes telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, and Airvo.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week; 36 per week can be accommodated if desired.
Weekend rotation is every other or every 3rd weekend, depending on staffing/census.
Unless the unit is closed, the contractor is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays.
No call.

Floating Requirements:
The traveler is required to float across all campuses: IMMC, ILH, and MWH.
