Required Skills/Experience: 1-2 years of experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: RN experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred.

Unit Details: Medically complex rehabilitation unit with cardiac monitoring. Ratios: D/E 1:7, N 1:9. Primary patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and vents. Medical environment, not traditional Med/Surg. Nurses do not manage ventilators; RTs handle vents. Nurse responsible for IV starts, drips, administering blood, EKGs, med titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend is required.

Floating Requirements: Travelers will float based on weekly need; respiratory units have the highest demand. May float to Respiratory Care Unit/Respiratory Step-Down Unit (Ratios: D/E 1:9 N 1:12). May float to TRU - TBI, medically complex chronic care (Ratios: D/E 1:7-10 N 1:12). May float to Hartford Satellite Campus - Medical, Rehab, Respiratory (Ratios: 1:5-8, average is 6 or 7). Float RNs will not be assigned to Pediatrics unless pedi-specific.
