Additional Details:
RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months.
- Some ICU experience or high-acuity PCU/high-acuity step-down experience required.
- Titration of vasopressors/pressors and continuous IV sedation required.
- Experience with insulin drips, trach vents, art lines, external pacemakers, chest tubes, Bipap, Opti flow, and cardiac arrhythmias is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.
Unit Details:
- Adult patient population.
- Acute Medical Care Unit, essentially a step-down from ICU; high-acuity step-down unit.
- Typically 1-2 RTs are assigned to the SDU each shift, depending on census. RT is responsible for vents, but RN needs to know how to troubleshoot alarms.
Shift & Scheduling:
- BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
- Weekend requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend. For night shift, it can be Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, depending on who is already on rotation.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to floors that are lower acuity.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
