OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma Center.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Clinicians should have strong Trauma Level 1 experience and/or be willing to work with difficult cases.
• Must have acute care surgical floor experience.
• OR candidates are not accepted.
• Preceptor and charge experience preferred.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred.

Required Credentials:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Preferred Credentials:

• Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.

Unit Details:

• 4W Surgical Transplant is a mixed stepdown and acute care floor caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients.
• The unit also cares for pre-transplant patients being evaluated during their inpatient stay.
• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery.
• Nurses on this floor may work either med-surg or stepdown patients depending on nurse availability.
• This is not a PACU position.

Floating Requirements:

• Travelers will be first to float.
• When the unit is short-staffed and ICU nurses are floated down, those nurses will work with the stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set.
