If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Unit Details:
Patient ratios: goal 1:4, usually 1:5, occasionally 1:6.
Uses Sunrise EMR, Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors, and Pyxis.
RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
Must be able to titrate drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix.
RT manages respiratory equipment, including AirVo high flow and Respironics BiPAP.
IV team performs all IV starts; PICC/midline team available.
Patient population includes chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post caths (manage radial bands and remove but do not pull sheaths), groin checks, intermediate-care overflow patients, occasional chest tubes, and Tikosyn therapy.

Shift & Scheduling:
Fri/Sat/Sun are considered weekend shifts.
Nights work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule.
Days work 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule; anyone working straight days must work a minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule. The 3 night shifts do not have to be on the weekend.
The only straight shift is nights.
Must be on the unit ready to go by 6:45 am/pm.
Self-scheduling is allowed as long as unit needs are met.
Travelers must be flexible to work holidays if needed; they do not usually have to work many holidays because they are typically covered by permanent staff.

Special Requests:
Staff are allowed 4 requested days off per month.

Floating Requirements:
Required to float as needed into Tele or MedSurg, with ratios up to 1:6 and possibly 1:7 in MedSurg (not common).
