Required Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients, including caths and cardiac drips.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Strong medical-surgical background with telemetry preferred.

Unit Details:

• Cardiac medical/med-surg telemetry unit.
• Patient ratios: days/eves 1-4; nights 1-5.
• Uses telemetry monitoring with some hard-wired rooms, vein finder for IV therapy, portable pulse oximetry, continuous oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitoring, mechanical lifts, dopplers, medication scanning capabilities, and SoftLab.
• Cardiac medical patient population includes hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic heart failure, new-onset Afib with or without RVR, stable dysrhythmias, cardiac cath patients without interventions, ablations, cardioversions, ICDs, pacers, medication loads, CardioMEMS, pericardial drains, patients requiring cardiac drips, ICU transfers, neuro/CVA patients, and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow, and Salter.
• Typical procedures/cases include cardiac caths (left/right, femoral/radial approach) without intervention; pacers, ablations, cardioversions, EP studies; and cardiac drips including Amio, diltiazem, renal-dose dopamine, dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix up to 40mg, and insulin drips.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.

• Floating within like areas.
