Required Credentials:

• Any hit on your license must be disclosed.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.

Special Requests:

• Unable to approve time off around July 4th.
• Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details:

• Split acute telemetry and intermediate care unit for thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgical patients.
• Procedures and patient population include CABG, cardiac valve repair and replacement, AAA repair, lung resection, esophagectomy, heart and lung transplant, limb amputations, femoral popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, post-op open heart and thoracic surgeries, revascularization therapies, TPA, and acute heart failure with aggressive diuresis.
• TIMU patients may include fresh lobectomies and patients requiring select cardiac drips and arterial lines; some are direct admits from PACU or transfers from CVICU.
• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Uses Glucomander and nurse-driven heparin, ketamine, and nitro drips.
• Nurse-patient ratios are 4 or 5:1 in acute care and 3:1 in TIMU.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Can approve 40 hours for time off.
