Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must be able to read/verify rhythm strips.
- Proficient with lab draws and peripheral IV starts required.
- Must have experience managing and titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone).
- Experience with BiPAP and insulin drips required.
Required Credentials:
- Must pass EKG exam at orientation.
- NIHSS - BlueCloud issuing body is also accepted
Preferred Credentials:
- Critical Care Course preferred.
Special Requests:
- No travel pairs/teams accepted.
- May be able to accommodate weekend blocked schedule.
Unit Details:
- Cardio-pulmonary progressive care unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with heart block, chronic cardiac conditions, cardiac rhythm management, chest tubes, and progressive cardiac care.
- All patients require continuous cardiac monitoring; bedside monitors in every room.
- No vasopressor drips are utilized on this unit.
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, PCA pumps, GlucoStabilizer, and bedside cardiac monitors.
- Unit support typically includes 2-3 CNAs on days and 2 CNAs on nights; charge nurse usually carries a lighter assignment, and travelers rarely serve as charge.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend and major holiday required.
Floating Requirements:
- Traveler may float within skillset to ICU for Stepdown/Progressive Care holds, Med/Surg, and ED for Stepdown or lower acuity holds as needed. Assignments will remain within traveler’s demonstrated competency and scope.
