Nicotine free campus. Must test negative.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NNICU. Level 1 or 2 NICU experience will not be considered.
Required Credentials: Must pass fit test; no facial hair unless for religious beliefs.
Unit Details: Ratios: 1:1-3/4 based on acuity. Uses Pyxis. Patient population includes 23-week micro-preemies, VLBW, usual complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung disease, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro cases, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling. Average length of stay: 40 days. Advanced practice is present on the unit. 1-2 PCTs per shift; lab/tech located near the unit. Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV. Respiratory and anesthesia are available for support; RTs manage ventilators.
Shift & Scheduling: No self scheduling. Scheduling is managed by the manager or scheduler. No on-call requirements. Every other weekend is required. Holidays required, as needed.
Floating Requirements: May float to other units in the ICU cluster (PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, IMU). Travelers are first to float.
