Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac/vascular experience required.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous permanent employees must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel teams must be submitted together. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
Unit Details: Ratios: Stepdown 1 RN: 3 patients; floor 1 RN: 6 patients. Cardiac surgery post-op patients include CABG, mid cabs, maze, valve replacements, Tendyne, mitral clip, LVAD, heart transplants, and TAVRs; complex cardiac surgery cases. Vascular surgery post-op/procedures include AAA repair, CEA, femoral bypass, angiograms, and amputations. Cardiology patients/procedures include STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, Watchman, and cardiac cath procedures such as PTCA, stents, ICDs, ablations, and pacemakers. RNs are required to titrate drips including Heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, and dobutamine. Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow; CMTs are housed on the unit and interpret all strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays as scheduled. No call.
Floating Requirements: Float to sister units in the Heart and Vascular Institute.
