Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- First-time travelers not accepted.
- General ICU skillset required: critical care gtts experience (insulin, vasopressors, sedation), management of invasive lines (ART/CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, and wound care/dressing changes.
Unit Details:
- Patient population includes ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, OptiFlow, BiPAP, overdose patients, EndoTool, CRRT, GI bleeds, and some trauma patients.
- Support includes CNA assistance with turning, feeding, ADLs, blood sugars, lab draws, and mobility; no HUC/receptionist; charge nurse, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7; IV/VAT team available. Phlebotomy is primarily RN responsibility, with limited hospital backup.
- Uses hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, and LifeFlow.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- No call required.
- Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Special Requests:
- RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Floating Requirements:
- Float within region and scope of practice. Region 1 includes Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH [peds only]); could float to any facility within the region if needed.
