Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- First-time travelers not accepted.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 3 years STAC preferred.
Special Requests:
- All RTO through manager, especially around holiday weeks.
Unit Details:
- Surgical patients (GI, ortho, trauma, GYN/ONC), sickle cell, and general medical patients; large oncology and post-operative population recovering from complex surgeries.
- Blood administration, skeletal/bucks traction, drains, JP, CT, wound dressings, wound vac management, wound care, heparin gtt, high flow, stable BiPAP, and PCA pain management.
- Support includes LPNs, CNA and receptionist support, vascular access team, sepsis and rapid response teams, RT 24/7, remote telemetry monitoring, and 24/7 hospitalist, specialist, and intensivist support.
- Phlebotomy staffing dependent; nursing may be responsible for lab collections.
- Uses Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, Sara Stedy, Arjo lifts, kangaroo pump, and sapphire pump for PCA.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- No on-call.
- Holiday expectations: based on scheduled days from facility.
- 7p-730a; can clock in at 653 and must be present for huddle at 7.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to mixed acuity only.
